MALAKYTE are a five-piece blackened thrash metal group from Brisbane, Australia.

Since forming in 2010, the band has toured relentlessly across the continent and shared stages with the likes of Anthrax, Municipal Waste, Kreator, Sepultura, Warbringer, D.R.I., and performed at Soundwave Festival in 2013.

After two EPs, "S2076" and "Fall to Khaos", the band released their debut album "Human Resonance" in October 2013, which was the first release to feature newly recruited vocalist Tommy Muz. The album was recorded by Sam Alcock of Defamer, mastered by Harris Johns (Kreator, Tankard, Voivod), and features cover artwork by Dan Goldsworthy (Hell, Accept, Sylosis).

Following the release of "Human Resonance" with an east coast tour of Australia, fans were given a taste of the new album and were blown away. Playing shows throughout 2014 garnered Malakyte a reputation for powerful and intense live shows.

2015 is seeing the band take gigs a bit slower while they focus their attentions to writing a followup to 2013's "Human Resonance" and finding a new permanent member for drums following the departure of founding member LG.

"...one of the best opening supports Brisbane has seen."

"Malakyte don't play like your average support band ... instead, the five piece play like they should be onstage... which means that the crowd responds with a hell of a lot more than the polite indifference generally afforded to the support band."

"...a hectic quality that shows them pushing on the boundaries of the music..."
